One Hour Payday Loan - No Hassle

"Our today's life is extremely fast, and it becomes faster and faster. We try to handle more and more things in one day, and that's why we require a lot more proficient products to be around. In this rapid life many things can occur, and we generally face the occasions when we require money rather urgently. A personal computer breakdown? An extra cash to be paid for energy? An unexpected trip? The list of matters we need money for can be endless.

Yudhoyono, Obama Could be Partners for Peace- John Braithwaite

US President Barack Obama's forthcoming trip to Indonesia is an opportunity to congratulate President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono for the considerable success he has had as a peacebuilder. He was a worthy Nobel Peace Prize nominee for his contribution to peace in Aceh, and made admirable contributions to building peace in Ambon and Poso, among other places. Unfortunately, he could never be a worthy Nobel winner because of the situation in West Papua. Obama's visit is also an opportunity to confront the failure to grasp the need for peacebuilding in Papua.

Renewable energy Events in China

I really appreciate to be part of this blog. For this reason I'm wondering if I could ask a question regarding China.

Mine Professor handed out to me a research assignment to look for the most important events and conferences in China that are related to renewable energy and sustainability technologies. Due to your experience do you know which are the most important events and conferences of this year? If you would start a new business in China regard this argument, where would you concentrate your investments?

Thank you for your attention.

12/10/2009 - 12:32
Europe/Copenhagen

Climate change requires globally concerted initiatives that cannot be motivated by direct practical self-interest and economic incentives alone.

The aim of this conference is to compare conceptions of ecological responsibility across cultures, and to explore the role of intercultural value studies for the development, communication, and practical implementation of new models of future-oriented and collective responsibility.

Keep an eye on China’s sector for renewable energy by Nis Høyrup Christensen, Ph.d. DI

In the global struggle to combat climate change China's sector renewable energy is becoming of increasing importance. High targets for renewable energy (hydro, solar, wind, biomass and biofuel), continued economic growth and the simultaneously increasing needs for energy means that the market looks extremely promising. In this brief note it is argued that five factors will work to make the sector one of the most dynamic places for developing renewable energy solutions.

Climate Change and Conflict by Olivier Rubin, NIAS

In 2007, the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) and Al Gore received the Nobel Peace Prize. The Nobel Prize Committee noted that their work could ‘contribute to a sharper focus on the processes and decisions that appear to be necessary to protect the world's future climate, and thereby to reduce the threat to the security of mankind.' Yet, in spite of this prestigious award, surprisingly little academic evidence has been produced within IPPC or elsewhere that point to a strong link between climate change and conflict. Challenges to peace in East Asia by Jordi Urgell

This article attempts to contribute to the discussion about the emerging concept of ‘East Asian Peace', which in its narrower formulation refers to a dramatic decline in the number of battle deaths from 1979 onwards. By using the data on armed conflicts and peace processes from the School for a Culture of Peace at the Autonomous University of Barcelona, the following article raises some academic questions that need further research.

Peace and Protest: Unarmed Insurrections in East Asia, 1946–2006 by Isak Svensson and Mathilda Lindgren, Uppsala University

Whereas the discussion on East Asian Peace has primarily focused on armed conflicts, this article contributes by discussing unarmed conflicts in the East Asian region. The article presents the regional picture of the prevalence of these types of non-violent, popular uprisings and contends that these types of social conflicts are important to consider in order to get a better grasp of what kind of relative peacefulness that East Asia is experiencing.

East Asian peace: what is it and why should it be studied? by Timo Kivimäki, NIAS

East Asia's relative peace has finally been noticed. There are now a growing number of activities dealing with the theme, seeking to explain the phenomenon. In addition to a relatively small panel at the Convention of the International Studies Association (ISA) last year, the phenomenon was addressed this year during a Panel of the European Alliance for Asian Studies at the 6th International Convention of Asia Scholars (ICAS) in Daejon, South Korea. Furthermore, the ASEM Education Hub for Peace and Conflict Studies organized
